Yes everyone is allergic to fleas that's why the bite itches. If your son broke out in red bumps it could mean he's having a sever allergic rection or the flea was carrying a disease it would be best to have checked out by a dr or call ask a nurse.
No, children nor human beings are allergic to flea bites. When one gets a flea bite, it would mean that there's flea infestation at home and the earlier you deal with it the better. However some bug bites are fatal and needs to be checked by a doctor.
it might be bed bugs. check yoir sons bed. strip it down and look for small brown bugs. if you find any then an exterminator is needed because you cant get rid of bed bugs. if there is one. there is more. but humans can not be allergic to flea bites i dont think. i know dogs are
My daughter is was 2 at the time was told to be allergic to grass and fleas. The red bumps showed up on her as well, the doctors said they were flea bites and also said the reason it was a allergic reaction cause kids immune system is not strong as adults. Hope your child gets better!
It's the bumps 'all over' that sets my mind to wondering. Bug bites show up in clusters, so even when bit by many bugs there are patterns, usually around exposed or lightly covered skin like ankles and neck, under a loose t-shirt, up pant legs. If there is anyway they can slip in, they will. Maybe it's a rash, they do cover the whole body. And there are so many kinds. the good news is you'll know soon enough, because bug bites and rashes act differently. Well, that's what I was thinking, and here's hoping for the best.
Fleas carry disease. Most people don't get bitten enough to get sick by flea bites but a child could. Fleas carried by rats carried the Plague. Cat fleas carry Bartonella, a difficult to detect and treat bacterial infection that can be treated effectively with Doxycycline if done early. Maybe just an allergic reaction though. It's not unusual to be allergic to bug bites or anything that has protein in it but usually the allergic reaction is at the bite site, not all over.
