If there is asbestos in the ceiling can I use sidewall sprinklers instead of ceiling mounted ones?

Lets say a house was built in 1972 and the ceilings in all the rooms were sprayed with asbestos texture. Then in like 2012 someone bought the house used and decided they wanted to put in a sprinkler system for the insurance break and general safety reasons. Instead of paying to have the texture removed from the ceilings when it is in perfect condition can they use sidewall sprinklers instead of ceiling mounted ones so as if not to disturb the asbestos during installation by mounting sprinklers only on the wall. Also what would happen to the asbestos texture if a sprinkler activated and what would the homeowner have to do in this case?

You will probably have to find out where you can mount the sprinklers from your local building code. Contact your municipal clerk.

If I had an asbestos spray applied ceiling, I would have a professional come in and check it out and get an estimate for removal or some way of containing the asbestos so that it doesn't start deteriorating and releasing asbestos fibers into the air.

Good luck.
