Can Ant Poison Kill a Dog?

my dog licked some Raid ant and roach killer. active ingredients are chlorpyritos

Depending on the size of the dog and the amount of poison he actually consumed, yes it could kill him. Since you say the dog just licked it, chances are he is just going to get sick and perhaps vomit, but you can't be too careful. You should take the dog in to see the vet to have him checked out and make sure he is 100% ok and then make sure you put your ant killer out of his reach from now on.

i washed his mouth out, and i called poison controll and the emergency vet...but as it goes, i'm pretty much pennyless...he's still very wobbely, jumpy and more clingy then usual...i hope he will be ok. he's an 11lb mut named whiteboy and i really love him, i wish i could do more...my dad sprayed the stupid ant stuff and he's just always getting into stuff, he only licked some of it off the base board in the kitchen. i looked online and a site discribed his symptoms to a t and said they should pass between 1 and 7 days. all i can do is make him as comfortable as i can and make sure he has plenty of water...thanks for your help

Yeah. It depends on how much it had... But I think it will be fine. Just go to the vet to make sure!
Good luck! :-)

Call your veterinary provider. He knows best, and don't wait.
