Do you reduce the chance of getting pregnant the more abortions you have? will multiple abortions increase the risk of problems?

I have had two abortions, one surgical (when i was 19), and a medical last year, I really want a baby, when I am ready, I feel i might be pregnant and am worried that if i choose to have an abortion, i run the risk of having problems getting pregnant in the future. im 26.

Gmoomoo, i don't wish to judge dear, but getting pregnant is not for entertainment. You are carrying life within..Innoncent life. Either use birth control or abstain till you are ready to be a mom. Abortions will foul up your insides for sure when you have that many. Twenty six is not old, but your body has been through 2 abortions. The older you get, complications can happen.
Talk to your doctor, he can address the issue. If you are pregnant this time, please give baby up for adoption unless you wish to keep baby and be a good mom. Good luck..

Since my answer was removed, i will talk here. Abortion is the same as pointing a gun at someone and wondering if you should pull the trigger. So why do people have abortions more then they shoot people? They are more sick than someone who shoots a man in the street for his money. Ten times sicker

At what point does a fetus become a person? Surly its better to not bring a life to this world that u can not provide for as best as you possibly can.
How can you compare shooting a man who has lived ( be it a day or 30yrs), to aborting a fetus in its first couple of weeks of development?

Just close your legs honey, and wait till the right time, but that will not affect your ability to get pregnant again.

Abortion scars the uterus tissue so it increases a chance for an ectopic pregnancy which will kill you & the baby so, you messed up your chances.

I think it is sad that you think this course of action is Ok. These are babies that any number or women that can not have children would love to have. Please, please consider adoption and use double birth control for crying out loud!!!

I'm am only 24 and I am no longer able to have children. I can believe someone would want to have an abortion. When I got pregnant with my first baby at 20 years old I wasn't ready. But while I was pregnant I did a lot of maturing and had my baby. Once I found out I was pregnant abortion didn't once cross my mind. I just though, wow, I need to prepare to be a mom! After I had my 2nd baby I had to have a hysterectomy to save my life. I almost died. I wish more than anything that I could have another baby.

Did you know that the majority of hormonal birth control medications are abortifacients? Did you know that the chemicals can remain in your system for over a year after getting off of them, causing miscarriage of pregnancy if you try to conceive within this time? Did you know that they scar the lining of your uterus making it difficult for the placenta to attach and so causing miscarriage if you ever want to have kids? As useful as birth control seems, if you are actually against abortion and care for a woman's future intentions to have kids, you would not recommend it.

Tally, I didn't know all of those things. I took birth control for a few years before I got pregnant. I actually did have placenta problems with my second pregnancy, but it was the opposite problem. I had placenta accreta. My uterus had to be removed because of it.

Erika: I am very sorry, and you have my admiration for being such a strong woman. You seem from the little you have written to be a wonderful person and mother. Please note that my comment was addressed to booksandbutter; you and I simply happened to post at about the same time.

Tally, I didn't recommend birth control pills-- I said use birth control. There is a big difference. You can use condoms, diaphragms, iud, sponges, and I am sure something I didn't mention. I don't take birth control because we have had infertility issues for almost 10 years and do agree with you that pills are abortifacients. However, I still would say that pills are better than someone aborting fetuses after weeks of pregnancy and multiple times.

I see. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Having several abortions can put you at risk for being able to carry a baby to term. (or be able to conceive) However two abortions should not affect your ability to have children in the future. Make sure you talk to your gynecologist. But please try to practice safe sex, or abstain if you can. Good luck.

http://www.babycenter.ca/preconception/suspectingaproblem/abortion/ I don't agree with abortions at all but here is a link to a site that says that it's unlikely that abortions will effect future pregnancies. I wish more than anything that I could have another baby, but I can't.

Abortion increases your risk of breast cancer. Surgical and certain chemical abortions scar the lining of your uterus, making it difficult and even impossible for the placenta to implant. This will cause miscarriage of pregnancy and render you unable to carry your own children if you decide to ever have any.

Where is your proof about all of your 'findings'? So if a woman has a miscarriage is she going to get breast cancer too?

Here is one study. And yes, miscarriage ("spontaneous abortion") can increase your risk.
