Why does my dog yelp when getting up

I have a beagle, he is only 2 years old. All of the sudden just in the past week he has started to yelp when he gets up from a lying position. He seems completely fine otherwise. We have been giving him an aspirin as well as massage his legs and even moved his legs around to make sure nothing was hurt on him. Any ideas?

It is possible that your dog has something sharp in his pad, like glass or a burr that is causing him pain when he gets up. Inspect his pad closely, and remove anything with tweezers or have a vet remove it if it looks embedded.

Ask a vet, maybe something sharp in the pad of his foot, or a bruise somewhere that you can't see. It could be any number of things, but it is an injury I bet, have him checked.
