If you are really serious about losing weight, first of all, don't think about the ultimate goal: why? Because it's overwhelming, and you will feel like you'll never do it, and you'll be likely to give up. Instead, set smaller, attainable goals--say, 5% of your present weight (which would be 12-1/2 lbs) or better yet, 10 pounds. Also, make some of your goals NOT weight goals, but perhaps a goal to walk for 30 minutes, three times a week, or dropping one clothing size. It's very important NOT to set time limits on your goal--it can sabotage your efforts, because your body is going to go at its own rate. And last, consider looking into Weight Watchers. If you were to ask your doctor, chances are, it's what he (or she) would recommend. To get an idea of what it's like, you can go to a meeting, free of charge, or you can check it out online at www.weightwatchers.com --and I can tell you, from personal experience (65lbs gone, with another 22 to go), it's a great program. I'm never hungry, I eat regular, grocery store type food, & it's not hard to follow. You get wonderful support at meetings; if you prefer, there's an online program option. Finally, I don't work for them, & they don't pay me to post this--I just love the program!
It depends on how tall you are, how much of you is fat and muscle, if you are bigboned, how much you exercise, your metabolism etc. This is not something we can help you with, but something you should talk to your doctor about. and you should also talk to your doctor about healthy ways to lose weight, as in not starving yourself. If you eat under so many calories a day, you actually gain weight for awhile. Its kind of like a bear in hibernation.
If you 250 pounds, you should lose about 100 pounds to achieve a healthy weight. A 16 year old should have a healthy weight of between 125 pounds to 150 pounds. You can lose weight through exercises like aerobics in the gym.
well if you want to look healthy I would say that your ideal weight goal would be 160 lbs. This can be achieved by eating fruit, no junk food (sadly that includes chocolate), and doing something physical but fun like: 1. trampoline - I really enjoy this because it feels weird after you eat jelly :P and it is good to do with music. 2. swimming - swimming can also help you with your lung capacity if you are breathing under water 3. extreme shopping- I believe you will enjoy this: just go to a big mall and go to at least 15 different stores (but try to make sure that those stores are spread out), then just go into the stores pick up as many clothes that you like (and are your size) and then try putting them on and off as fast as you can. (this is the most weirdest exercise but its fun) and then just buy what you can afford and want :P don't forget to be speed walking while going through the stores xD 4. don't use cars or bikes just walk (unless its like 5 killometres away, yes you can take a car)- just take a walk, it is relaxing and it can make you think of ways to loose weight :)
