The four types of scoliosis are idiopathic, functional, neuromuscular, and degenerative. Idiopathic is determined by the age of onset. Functional scoliosis is when a curvature of the spine is a result of something going on somewhere else in the body. Neuromuscular scoliosis occurs during development of the spine.
