how much weight can ice support

Report as

The amount of weight that ice can support depends on the thickness of the ice. If ice is 2 inches or less it is best to stay off. At 4 inches a man can walk on the the ice. At 5 inches a snowmobile or ATV would be able to drive over it. At 8-12 inches you can drive a car or small pickup over the ice. At 12-15 inches you can drive a medium truck over the ice.
