what can happen when you overuse antibiotics

Report as

Antibiotics generally work by killing bacteria in the body to prevent or treat infection. Overuse of antibiotics can destroy the normal flora in the body's system killing the "friendly" bacteria the body needs that may also lead to a suppressed immune system. This predisposes the person to greater risk of infection, a condition called superinfection, which is difficult to treat and may lead to death.
