How do you keep cookies soft and chewy? I used real butter and put directly into an airtight tin or container and they still turn rock had.

Well if your cookies keep coming out hard maybe you should try reducing your cook time or the temperature your cooking them at ,they will always hardern if over cooked , you can't always go buy instructions on the back of a box beacuse different brands of stoves heat differently.

If you put a piece of bread in the container with the cookies, they will go soft and chewy. I do iy everytimeale cookies. So go ahead and put the bread I'm and by morning, they will be soft.

Take them out 2-5 minutes before the max time on the back of the box and leave them on the pan for any 5-10 minutes, they will be soft but they will continue to slowly bake using the heat from the pan. This keep mine soft all the time :) hope I helped :)
