Why do people misjudge sharks?

I have loved sharks half my life and have studied sharks and they are really beautiful! Now they are about to go extinct and the fisherman that are cutting off there fins don't care! They cut the sharks fins off and throw it back into the ocean were it will drown or be eaten alive!

I think its because not most people understand the lifestyle of the sharks. A lot of people don't believe that it is possible for human beings to live with harmful animals around others may have had some bad experience with them so they tend to react negatively towards them.

They kill people without warning. Not everyone's going to love them. There isnt anything you can do about the law of cutting sharks fins, unless there is one. You need to be the difference you want to see in the world.

Because they swim faster, they are stronger, and if you're close by and it's hungry, no matter how much you love it, it won't love you back.

When Jaws came out people around the world refused to get back into the water, it actually hurt the seasonal retailers. People always fear what they don't understand. Take a look at most sharks, they're perfect killing, & eating machines. Throw in shark attacks, movies, even educational videos people get real unsure of what is below them. I dive & have encountered many sharks, it's a little unnerving swimming next to things bigger than you. For the most part if you don't bother them, they won't bother you. I'm not as stupid as I look, so many times if I know the area I'll bring my bang stick just in case. The funny thing is that most people see all sharks as the evil man eating Great White. Bull sharks, & Makos bother me more. People would leave them alone if they weren't ignorant regarding sharks & their habits

Sharks have killed many people because they looked like seals with their surf boards and seals are a source of food. Its might not be on purpose but sharks are very dangerous. They don't have feelings like dogs! Not a big fan...Sorry!

Same reason pit bull are mis judged. One attack and it is all over the news, although shark (and pit bull) attacks are rare. Also from things like the movie Jaws
