Why do I have a pain in my left side?

I have a pain in my left side right below my rib cage, it hurts me mostly at night and usually not until about 2:00 am in the morning. Pain usually subsides after I have beenup for 1/2 hour or so. A few times I have felt it through the day, but nothing like I do at night, it keeps me up throughout the night.

There may be many reasons for why you are having a pain in your left side. You could be experiencing an ulcer, or have an internal infection. It is curious that your pain is in the left side worse at night. You should consult with your doctor and have them run tests to make sure that nothing is seriously wrong.

You may want to experiment with the food you eat. For example, I would first lay off the spicey food to see if that has any effect. Try raising your bed 35 degrees to see if that makes a difference. Has anyone ever told you you have acid reflux? I'm taking a stab in the dark
