The letter of office is a document one should provide to prove that someone has died. You might have been asked to get it so that the bank can learn more about your daughter. One is required to fill in fields and present it to a court to be signed. Go to co.stephenson.il.us/circuitclerk/Forms/letter of office.pdf to get a sample of the letter.

That's not a term I'm familiar with either; I'd just call the bank and ask them. They'll be able to tell you who the letter should be from and what it should say. So sorry for your loss, especially at this time of year.
