If I have damage to the bursa sack in my knee, would massage with an anti-inflammatory cream help or hinder? It's been 7 weeks since injury.

That's called plica. I just had mine removed because it did not settle down after trying NSAID's and physical therapy. I injured my knee last November 18 and had arthroscopic knee surgery feb 15.
It will be 2 wks Tuesday since the surgery and I am walking with crutches still, but do not need narcotic pain medications any more.

Well if you do any type of massage on it, make sure that what you are doing is not going to make the problem worse. Check with your doctor before you engage in any type of therapy. Get an x-ray to see if something else might be wrong as well and if your doctor says it is ok then go for it!
