No

You want your mother to file for divorce for you ? Seriously ?

You have to be the one to do it, or hire an attorney to do it.

And, it has to be in the state that you are a legal resident of.

Yes, you can file in the state that you live. Your mom will probably be able to file for you there but I highly doubt it. Your supposed to file, where you all lived, or where you were married.

It is not your mom's job to take care of your divorce. Be an adult and take care of your own divorce filing.

It would be more trouble to give your mom power of attorney, than to just file for divorce in your county. Go to the courthouse and buy the papers, fill them out, then go back and file them at the courthouse. The fees are minimal and it is relatively easy. You do not need an attorney.
