I've read that Hodgkins, Indiana is a place near Hammond (Indiana Toll Road exit 1) where triple trailers bound for Illinois (which doesn't allow triples) park, split, and leave a trailer to be hauled the rest of the way to Hodgkins, Illinois.
A couple of days ago, a package I was tracking left Maumee, Ohio at 10:30 AM and arrived at Hodgkins, Indiana (which is why I was wondering about this) at noon. Assuming all times are local, with Maumee on Eastern Time and Hammond, Indiana on Central Time, two and a half hours isn't quite long enough for a trip that Google Maps should take just over three hours. Looking at the satellite view of Hammond, I don't see anywhere close to the turnpike where a triple trailer could park and split.
Farther east, however, the junction of the turnpike and I-69 (turnpike exit 144) is about an hour and a quarter from Maumee, and north of the junction, along a road that Google and Mapquest both call Old US 27, there are lots of parking lots and truck stops. I don't see anything that says "UPS" on it, but this is at least plausible.
