Why does my dog flip over on his back and roll around like crazy in the grass when I take him to the park?
Is there something in the grass?
Dogs sense of smell is like 10,000 times better than humans. When they roll around on the ground at the park , more likely than not, they are rubbing the scent of something into them that they like
The reaction of your dog shows that it is frightened to something. There must be something near you that catches the attention of your dog and causes it to act like that.
Your dog is NOT frightened. He's happy to be outside. Life is good if you're a dog.
They do it when there happy! Scared?? What the heck?? No! My dog does that too! There marking their territory and it's also a way to show yay!! I feel free!!
My Golden Retriever does this to scratch his back. He lays on his back with his feet sticking up, and then moves his back end from side to side.
In the summertime when you work outside all day, take a shower and lay down on cool, smooth sheets how do you feel?
my dog does that all the time. usually it means she saying,"come play with me and throw the frisbee!" or its because she likes the sun. after all, its florida
That's probably his way of saying that he's really happy. Next time he does that, try giving him a belly rub or playing catch.
if he is an inside dog then he likes to rub on different grounds
HE is having fun. I see dogs do that all the time, including mine. IT also feels good on their backs.
Dogs do that! It's like them saying, "awww yeah sunshine, green grass..." :) happy doggy;)
HE IS HAPPY! YAY! He is happy that he is outside in the sun and playing with you and other dogs. My dog does it too.. happy doggy : )
HE IS HAPPY HAPPY DOG YOU ARE DA BEST OWNER ever
His back is itchy and he's happy
He is in a playful mood! he also smells the other animals that have been there, so he is marking his sent by rubbing the grass, marking it's territory.
because it feels good
