How many months pregnant do you have to be before you can find out the gender of the baby?
A baby's sex can be determined from about 18 weeks of pregnancy. The process is known as amniocentesis and involves taking a sample from the amniotic fluid and analyzing your baby's cells, which are present in the fluid.
I've done high risk ultrasound for 29 years. You don't need an amniocentesis at 18 weeks. That would just possibly put you at risk for a miscarriage. A good sonographer can tell you by 14weeks.
Five months is when you find out.
