How can I get a copy of my DD214 for a doctor's appointment tomorrow?

I served in the Army from 17apt60 to 16aug71 and was interested in obtaining verification, which I had gotten in a short note from the Marin County Veteran's Services-but he is on vacation and left a message saying that I could get a copy of my DD214 on-line.I don't have a printer, and would have to either go to the Oakland office of DVA or a library to do this, if it's actually possible. My name is William Lawrence O'Donnell (RA18934342) VA C29061873. Mt e-mail address is: william.odonnell4@gmail.com

Man, if you don't have your identity stolen, I'll sure as he'll be surprised. You left your military serial number, VA number, and e-mail address right out in the open. Don't be surprised if someone gets to your DD-214--and your identity--before you do!!

Is that what all those designations are? Finally something before my time. We used SSNs throughout my career. I'm going to flag him for his own good.

He should have given you the website. I believe you can go on-line on AKO, if you are army, but you need an account. As a veteran, you are eligible for a free account. I'm sure the other services have similar websites, just don't know them. Try AKO.army.mil or google AKO.

I can try to confirm tomorrow but that may be too late for your doc appt.

Good luck.
