When Jesus rose from the dead, he gave the Holy Spirit, which he had received from God. Jesus promised that if you repented all of your sins, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, you will receive the Holy Spirit. Disciples described it as a tremendous power and ecstasy unlike anything that they had ever known before.
Holy Ghost the third Person of the adorable Trinity. His personality is proved (1) from the fact that the attributes of personality, as intelligence and volition, are ascribed to him ( John 14:17 , 26; John 14:17 ; 1 Cor 2:10 , 11; 1 Cor 2:10 ). He reproves, helps, glorifies, intercedes ( John 16:7 13; Rom 8:26 ). (2) He executes the offices peculiar only to a person. The very nature of these offices involves personal distinction( Luke 12:12 ; Acts 5:32 ; 15:28; Acts 5:32 28:25; 1 Cor 2:13 ; Heb 2:4 3:7 2 Pet 1:21 ). His divinity is established (1) from the fact that the names of God are ascribed to him ( Ex 17:7 Ps 95:7 comp. Heb 3:7 11 ); and (2) that divine attributes are also ascribed to him, omnipresence ( Ps 139:7 Eph 2:17 , 18; 1 Cor 12:13 ); omniscience ( 1 Cor 2:10 , 11 ); omnipotence ( Luke 1:35 ; Rom 8:11 ); eternity ( Heb 9:4 . (3) Creation is ascribed to him( Gen 1:2 Job 26:13 ; Ps 104:30 ), and the working of miracles( Matt 12:28 ; 1 Cor 12:9 11 ). (4) Worship is required and ascribed to him ( Isa 6:3 Acts 28:25 ; Rom 9:1 Rev 1: 4 Matt 28:19 ).
The Spirit (also "wind" or "breath") of God was present in Genesis 1 and is the medium of creation, the Breath through which the Word was spoken. In the Old Testament, God is often referred to as Israel's "ezer kenegdo" (i.e. "helpmate," the title given to Eve). In the New Testament, this word is "Paraclete" and is the role of the Holy Spirit in the Church. The Spirit of God, traditionally discussed in feminine terms (not to be confused with gender) acts as a Mother or Wife to the Church, tending to the needs of the Church Body (both individually and collectively), empowering the Church to be what the Church was created to be--the Body of Christ, His Hands and Feet in to World. The term Paraclete also has connotations of being an Advocate, though typically that Role is given to Christ, the Word.
He was known to be the angel that brought news to prophets from their Lord. He was the one who brought the good news of the birth of Jesus to Mary and he was also the one who gave Muhammad the revelation (Quran) from his Lord.
If you are talking about the holy spirit mentioned in the Bible as the Paraclete it was Muhammad!
Seems to be the third part of the trinity of Christianity (father, son, holy spirit), pretty much the work horse of the three, has been described by some sects as the "Active Force" in other words the energy that god uses to make things happen.
To help us to understand this, consider the far-reaching effects of an electric power plant. A power plant has a certain location in or near a city. But its electricity is distributed over all that area, providing light and power. It is similar with God. He is in the heavens. (Isaiah 57:15; Psalm 123:1) Yet his holy spirit, which is his invisible active force, can be felt everywhere, over all the universe. By means of his holy spirit God created the heavens, the earth and all living things. (Psalm 33:6; Genesis 1:2; Psalm 104:30) To create these things, God did not need to be present in body. He can send out his spirit, his active force, to do whatever he wants even though he is far away.
holy spirit is fighting to get closer to God so that you can be just like him and live a righteous life by God's word, following his commandments, hoping that one day when you die you will go to heaven and be with God
