I'm starting my doctorate in business I need a new lap top what size ram and memory do i need to buy?

You should consider a lap top which has no less than 1 GB, rather 2 GB. Maybe go to best buy or any electronics store and speak to the salesperson. They should know all the Ram and whatnot that you'll need. Shop around. And good luck in school! ;)
