How do rewards increase motivation? What would happen if an organization gave too few rewards? What would happen if gave too many?

The way rewards work to motivate employees is that it shows that you appreciate the hard work they are doing. People like it when their efforts are recognized. It gives them a sense of respect. If you give too much rewards, employees may feel that they are being controlled by finances .On the other hand if they are not rewarded they feel disappointed and feel like they are being punished.
