what is the sum of the interior angles of an octagon

Report as

If we divide an octagon into triangles we get six triangles. The sum of the interior angles of an octagon is hence 1080: obtained by multiplying six by 180, the sum of angles in a triangle. Illustrations on this can found at http://www.coolmath.com/reference/polygons.html.
