why do dogs get stuck together when they breed

Report as

As male and female dogs mate, the bulb-shaped end of the male dog’s penis swells up and acts as a plug. This is sometimes called a “coital tie” and occurs so semen is not spilled out. The bulbis glandis remains swollen for five to sixty minutes after ejaculation. Visit http://www.aces.edu/pubs/docs/U/UNP-0052/ to learn more about why dogs get stuck together when they breed.
