To determine the correct filter size for your pool, multiply its surface area by its average depth. Multiply the result with 7.9 to get the approximate number of gallons your pool holds. A 1.5 inch pipe can handle 45 gallons per minute while a 3 inch pipe can handle 150 gallons per minute.
