how did john d rockefeller treat his workers

Report as

One of the richest Americans in history, John D. Rockefeller was the founder of the Standard Oil Company. He started out humbly but made his fortune via hard-driving and sometimes controversial business tactics. Rockefeller started in the oil business, and by the end of the century his Standard Oil Trust controlled so many other interests that it fell foul of anti-trust laws. Nevertheless, he was a philanthropist, giving away millions to schools, health organizations and civic projects through the Rockefeller Foundation. Although some would accuse him of mistreating his workers, by and large the truth is he did not treat them too badly. For more information, please visit http://www.ask.com/wiki/John_D._Rockefeller
