Luke 6:13, John 15:16 state that Jesus called 12 apostles and gave them power and authority. Luke 10:1-20 indicates He called Seventies and gave them their assignments. Ephesians 2:20 states that Jesus was the chief cornerstone (Head of the church) and that His church was built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets. The following references indicates the offices or callings that were found in the Church as well as indicates some of their responsibilities: apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, elders, seventies, bishops and deacons. Acts 13:1; 14:23; 15:1-6; 1 Corinthians 1:12; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Timothy ch 3; Titus 1:7-9 and Philippians 1:1

2 Tim 2:2 gives an example of leadership. Paul trains Timothy to train godly men who will train godly men. Elsewhere it says pastors should only have one wife. Most Church organisational structure is recorded in the Didache ("The Teaching" of the Twelve Apostles). It was lost to the Dead Sea Scrolls and thus was removed from the Cannon prior to the formation of the current Cannon but is now available in various forms.
