Where is the best place to have a ring resized?

My ring is too big. It's 10k gold and only has one very small diamond in it. I need to get it smaller.

A reputable gemologist is your best choice to have any work done on jewelry.

After several decades of marriage Daizy had to have her rings resized and the guy who did it said, "Not everybody realises that rings shrink over a period of time."

What a gentleman!

That guy must have been kin to a male hair dresser who did my hair one time. It took him a while to put my hair up on curlers (my hair was long and thick.) Undoubtedly that wasn't my only malady. The guy said, "You certainly have a lot of surface area!" (Short for "You've got a big head, lady!")

I agree w/Barbra above I just want to say a good reputable jewelry store is where you want to take it for a resize.

You can have a spacer placed by a jeweler while you watch him. Decide on the price first before you get it done. I had this done on my wedding ring and it worked just fine. However, if you need to leave the ring with him, make sure he's renting a permanent spot in the building or a mall for several months and he should give you a signed receipt.
