Can I buy parts to build a iPhone from a iPod touch?

I am not wanting to use VOIP (like Skype). I am interested in buying the hardware parts to add/change on iPod to create iPhone.

Yes, you can buy the parts but you might get sued by the Apple Company for infringement on their copyright rights. This is because the design of the iPhone is owned exclusively by Apple and cannot be used by any other person without their permission.

No, you won't get sued, that's silly. The first sale doctrine lets you put together whatever you like if you buy it. The hard part, though, is that you don't have the expertise or the tools to do the significant amount of engineering it would take, sorry. There is no easy method.

I saw an ad a while ago. What they were selling was an outer casing to attach to your iPod touch. They claimed that it basically turned it into an iPhone. I don't know if they were being honest but you could research it if so inclined.
