Hi jgct119. Acne is a persistent problem that can trouble people of all ages.

To treat an individual blemish, you may be best off with an over the counter treatment. Benzoyl peroxide and salycilic treatments are available in pharmacies, and are often effective. But they can dry your skin out, so use with care.

In the long term, washing your face regularly and cutting down on oily foods like cheeses and fried foods can help prevent further acne flare-ups. Washing with an acne specific face wash can help, too, though you may want to consult with a dermatologist to find out which of the many available treatments is right for you.

If you find yourself troubled with persistent and severe acne, it may be time to talk to your dermatologist about some of the topical and oral medications that are available by prescription.

Yes. A person's diet has a lot to with the outbreak and problems with acne. You should add Vitamin A , and Green tea into your diet while at the same time lower your fatty and salty foods.

Greasy foods feed the oil glands.

I am a 40 year old woman who battled acne all my life. I went on a ton of different meds - but unfortunately - they either bothered my stomach or I was not consistent in taking them -

I changed my diet many months ago and have NOT had acne for the first time in my life and this is without using any meds.

I cut down dramatically on the amount of sugar, and increased fruits and vegetables while keeping my carbs within the ADA recommended

Good luck to you
