I tried everything suggested on several websites, even watched a couple youtube videos. My wife complained of the same problem and I fixed it by ensuring that the Router Wireless network mode supported b/g/n. I realized that one day I had the brilliant idea of exclusively using the wireless n capability of my netgear router. Fortunately several months later I recollected. Just use either b/g or b/g/n mixed mode.

I've had troubles with my iPhone (same network setup as iPod Touch) connecting to my router at times. In some cases I just rebooted my router. In extreme cases, I went into my iPhone Settings and Reset Network Settings, then re-added my connection.
