do i have three days to cancel a contract

This is one of the most widely misunderstood areas of contract law. There is no such right as per contract law, however certain states like Colorado allow a 1 day grace period for certain consumer items under the consumer protection law, the federal law allows a 3 day period for door to door and mortgage sales.
