Definitely they do hurt, although it depends with your threshold to pain and the location of the tattoo as far as how much it will hurt, personally I think it's painful.

O lol :) I'm 14 I don't have any but my cousin is 22 an got a star an said it hurt do do they burn your skin or no??? :)
Report as
No, No, No, they do not burn your skin.
I hope that helps clear things up.
Put simply, it's ink poked into the skin with a needle, hence the pain, that leaves the skin colored.

Yes, getting a Tattoo does hurt. I have two, one on my inner wrist and one one my outer calf. The wrist one hurt almost unbearably but the calf one was tolerable. Of course, it depends on your own personal threshold for pain. But, in my opinion the closer to the nerves and tendons that the Tattoo Artist has to go the more it will hurt. I hope this helps you.

Fairly painful. I have a large one on my back. The closer they got to my ribs the more it hurt. It took 4 hours. On a scale from 1-10, 1 being a pinch on the arm, 10 being torn knee ligaments (the worst pain I've had), I'd say it's a 3.

It does depend on your tolerance for pain and where on your body you get it. I have a high tolerance for pain and got mine on my arm. It didn't hurt. It just felt like someone was lightly scratching me. My friend got one on his chest. He found it extremely painful. If its on a place where the bone is right below your skin, it will hurt quite a bit.
