Is a heart rate of 56 good
You have to find your personal target heart rate. A normal RHR for adults is between 60-100, although exercises and athletes may have lower RHR (the lower it is, the more fit you are). If your RHR is over 100, you should call your doctor to get checked out. http://exercise.about.com/od/cardioworkouts/ss/findtargetheart.htm
A heart rate of 56 is bad.... You should call your doctor to get checked out.
If you are a teenager then a resting heart rate of 56 shows that you are in good shape. The rate of resting heart rate varies depending on age and sex of an individual. Visit http://www.topendsports.com/testing/heart-rate-resting-chart.htm for a chart on how to measure the heart rate.
56 is slow. 31 is deadly. A cardiologist I met says that he usually sets pacemakers at 68 beats per minute then makes adjustments from there.
