What else could it be if it's not poison sumac on my face? Please read information.

My entire face has been covered in a rash for 4 weeks. Thought it was poison sumac, went to the doctor & got a steroid shot, steroid dose pack, antibiotic, & pills & cream for the itching. It went away completely for about 3-4 days & then came back even worse & my face swelled up like a ballon, my eyes were almost completely swollen shut. It has started drying up (same thing it did the 1st time it got better), but is still pretty bad. it itches, burns, & hurts. Doctor said he doesn't think it's poison sumac, but possibly lupus. I will get the blood test results on the lupus test this afternoon. If it's not poison sumac or lupus what else could it be? it's been going on for about 4 weeks almost 5 weeks. It hurts, burns, & itches really bad & I am miserable. Not to mention everyone stares when I go out in public.

I would trust the doctor when he says it may be lupus. Try to be patient and wait on your test results. This is hard to do I know. You may need to see your doctor once more to see if there is something else you can use to relieve the itching and swelling. I'm not sure if Benadryl would help or not. You could even be allergic to something in your home.
