Try not to eat your dinner too late---the body trying to digest your food can cause you to stay awake later--or if you have eaten something too spicy or sweet it could cause you to have a restless sleep. So if want to get to sleep by 10pm, then your last meal should be before 6pm. Next, you need to RELAX, before going to sleep. So try not to do work (school or from the job) right before you sleep, likewise reading emails or getting into a deep conversation/argument by phone may also make you generate too many thoughts before you sleep or end up being part of your dreams--which can make you have a restless sleep. So a cup of chamomile tea reading a light magazine/book, listening to music or doing some yoga or meditation about 30-90 minutes before you want to sleep can help you get the good night sleep you are looking for.
