Dog had fluid filled lump on her ribcage. it burst underneath the skin and now fluid is hanging down loose near her sternum.
My 1 yr old Pyrenees mix grew a grapefruit sized sac on her ribcage over the course of about 6 days. It was very soft, like human breast tissue (so it's fluid filled, not at all like an abscess) and somewhat encapsulated by a membrane I think as it's very round and bulgy. The hair did not fall out.
Yesterday this fluid filled sac burst while we were playing, but it did not break open outside of the skin but ruptured beneath the skin only. now there is a much smaller lump on her ribcage and down below near her sternum there is loose fluid kind of sloshing around. I am hoping this will be reabsorbed but we'll see. She hasn't ran any fever, and has had very normal behavior so I've postponed veterinary consultation, especially as my spouse and I both are recently unemployed so extra expenses are out of the question. Please offer any experience you've had with things like this
