Don't believe death can be considered "alive" therefore animate unless of course you believe it's a personification, a person or thing which comes to "take you away". I do suppose it might be thought of as a state of being and being falls into the word existence which includes life which......etc. etc. etc.....????? Wow Words are such extraordinary things.
Death cannot be considered an inanimate object because it is intangible. The organism that dies becomes inanimate, but death itself is a state of being. Death is the permanent termination of biological functions.
