What do you want to do?
If you're just looking to pump up your energy level, greens, greens, greens (as in green veggies, micro-algaes (spirulina, blue-green algae) and cereal grasses (barley juice pd, wheat grass, etc.). Other veggies are important too.
If you're looking to fuel up for athletic activities, carbs, better from your complex carbs (veggies, fruits) and some grains. Avoid high sugar stuff - you'll crash fast.
If you drink carbonated beverages and are hooked on sugary foods, cut as many of them out of your diet as possible. Same with the high fat and high starchy, low nutrient foods. Also consider cutting back on how much you eat - Don't eat until you feel full, just until you are satisfied. Your body won't work so hard because it is digesting food all the time.
it really isn't a good idea to rely on specific foods to stimulate energy... a healthy body will be able to provide you with all of the energy you'll ever need foods that instantly boost are generally all trash... eating a home made trail mix, a little every now and then, some fresh fruit and maybe a boiled egg... the sugar in fruit is released more slowly, which is what you really want... slow, steady constant production of energy is what you should be always shooting for... this is just my 2 cents...
start following this diet and in no time you'll have all of the energy you'll ever need and prevent inflammation from ever occurring... no inflammation, high energy and less likely to develop disease... any diet that can correct a metabolic disorder like type2 diabetes rocks the world in my book!!!
