I do agree, there are many other professions you can look into. For example, I'm going to school to become a neonatal nurse. Think about what types of people u would like to work around. For example babies, kids, older people. Also do you want to work with devices to take ultrasounds and sonograms? Another aspect you can look into is what body system you want to work around; there are respiratory technicians and phlebotomy technicians as well.
There are many other areas. A nurse practitioner or a physicians assistant. Anesthetist, lab tech, and so many specialties. Keep searching because the first 3 years os undergrad studies are very similar.
