The army boot camp is characterized by a rigid and stiff routine. You will be told how many hours to work, at times working overtime for no pay at all. You will have to do tasks that you did not sign up for. There is always going to be someone yelling at you for no reason at all. Sometimes you will have to be told to do something you don't want to do in a way that will make you angry, just to see your reaction.
A shock, for one, because you are stepping into a total military environment, unlike your former, normal world. Expect cranky, power happy co's., rules, regulations, rigor, tough tasks, strict inspections, surprise inspections, kp, scrubbing toilets, interesting classes, boring classes, physical fitness training, weapons training, fatigues, combat boots, folding your socks and underwear, lots of shots, long lines for food you wolf down, and homesickness. Upon graduation, you will feel an incredible sense of accomplishment. It's absolutely worth it. Go Army!
