What foods are high in uric acid

blood tests always show high uric acid levels, why?

I agree with TeXtBoOk except for one point - it would be a diet that is way too high in protein. I worked in an office several years where at new years time, almost all if us either went on Atkins or South Beach. By May, several of the Atkins people had to have gall bladder surgery. South Beach at least allows some good carbs, which is why it us better for your system.

What foods are high in uric acid blood tests always show high uric acid levels, why? You may be eating too many foods that are high in uric acid. These top high foods are: yeast, sardines, herring, hearts, mussels and smelt are among the higher foods with uric acid.

Uric acid is associated with gout. Some people on the Adkins diet get gout. I think it's high carbohydrate foods, to the exclusion of a balanced diet.
