Teachers are just like regular people, and therefore cannot be 100% free of any favoritism, even if they try.
YES i know a teacher who took someones phone away from P.E because he was taking pictures and the next day his favorite student walked by and was using her phone to take pictures with her friends and he started taking pictures together. I think he likes her. they hug a lot tooo.

I was wondering because my teacher is really nice to everybody, but he seems to really like me. He's giving me extra time to work on assignments I missed, he smiles a lot at me and likes talking to me, and I get special privileges such as being able to go to the library in the middle of class or go to my locker without getting him mad. He is always pointing out my accomplishments( like when I got a 37/35 on my test, which I do a lot) but rarely anyone else's. He's my favorite teacher because he is nice and I love the subject, but I was wondering if teachers really did have their favorite students?

Most of my teachers hated me because of my sister... And we had one that played favorite to one person in my class.. He literally got away with everything! Him and I were late turning in a subject. We told her and she gave him an A because he was honest, ok I did the same thing BEFORE him and she flunked me. Right in front of me to! It was no fun...

I think many students make more of an effort to get to know their teachers on a personal level. So in this sense, they may appear to be a "favorite" because they spend more time with the teacher than others. As a high school teacher, I have favorite students but don't get me wrong because my favorite students will receive the same consequences as the rest of my class if they don't follow classroom rules. I can't help but enjoy those students who stimulate both me and the class. These are the students whose facial expressions indicate that they are interested in the material, who ask questions when they don't understand something (which means many of the other students are confused, too), who speak up when they have an idea that contradicts or complements the specific subject, or who offer a clever joke or smart-aleck comment that is relevant. So yes we do have favourite students but that doesnt they are our pets as some say :P

It's only human. If you are a punk, pick on other students, and crave attention or are a princess at home, you won't be a favorite of mine. But, if you work hard, try your best, are polite, get along with others, and are an overall nice kid, guess what? Teachers do talk to each other and we do have our favorites. Plus, we warn each other about who's whiny, annoying, a pain in the ---, you name it!
