why is there a star on my ten dollar bill

Report as

When a star is printed on any bill in place of where a letter would normally be, it signifies that it is a replacement note. Typically a bill with a star printed on it is not of any further value, unless the serial number is extremely unique (such as a large number of consecutive numbers).
