Really you shouldn't be obsessed with makeup at a young age, and it should not look cheap or desperate, but I'd say about 12 or 13. I really don't like the look of eyeshadow on young girls, though. I think it looks like they are trying too hard.
I think the one who said 2nd grade had some serious problems about self-image. Where were her parents? After reading the answers, I would say very light makeup at 12 or 13. You have the rest of your life to grow up. If you are going to wear makeup, make sure it's a good quality such as Clinique or Prescriptives, etc. Have your Mom or grownup take you for a makeover to see how to put on makeup correctly. Remember, rule of thumb, you shouldn't look like you are wearing makeup; it should enhance your look.
Don't. You're already beautiful. I wore makeup from ages 12-13 and it was fun, but after a while I realized that it's just too much, and that I don't need it, and you don't either. I'm going to be 15 next week and I haven't worn makeup since I was 13. Don't bother. Not worth your time.
If your are in a dance recital then any age is appropriate. If your are at a formal event then I would say 13 is OK. Once you reach an age that has teen after it you are no longer a child but a teenager (No you are still not an adult, Mom will explain that to you. for every day I'd say not until you reach 15.
^^^^ First grade?! uhm .. definetly when your a teenager i'd say light make up starting around 7th grade.... But if anyone has daughters and they let them put on actual cover up, don't let them look like a clown. lololl
i say your 2 pretty 2 be wearing makeup in the first place, why would u wanna hide your pretty face and put a mask on,and my mom always say only ugly people wear makeup, and at a young age wearing makeup will mass up your face. think about it
kids will be kids, but, let them be kids! I'm with gene222. I say 16. I do, I do, I do remember being a 13, 14, especially 15 year old kid, and I like most other girls wanted "older guys" and look like I was 21 and all that jazz, oh, and I Did know more than my parents before I was 16! :) :) J/k!!!! But makeup, well, I say lip gloss only until you are old enough to drive. Please don't get me wrong, I wanted so badly to wear more, but my mom only let me wear mascara (NOT waterproof) on Christmas for church. Which I also thought was irritating since it was also to only time I got to stay up past 9 p.m. Don't rush it! I'm happily married and my husband still likes me better without
I'm 14 now, But I've been wearing makeup since I was 11. But I'd take it off before I got home from school, And put it on when I get to school. But my mom didn't allow it till I was 13. So yeah. I'd say 13 too (:
i started at age 15 but now i wish i never tried it in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! right now am 19 and trying to stop. in my view make-up is just there to cover up what we hate about ourselves, now that am this age i figured it out and am so over what anyone has to say about me. because am me! :) a message to all the girls out there you're beautiful the way you are so dont cover up!! let others like you for who you are.
If you're talking about light make-up on special occasions, as young as mother allows. If you're trying to cover flaws or enhance a special feature, tints are good at about 15. If you want to look like a movie actress on stage, after high school. Make-up should enhance your features and make you look healthy, not tacky. Less is always more.
It all depends. Don't wear tooooo much makeup. If you do wear to much whenever you take off your make up you will feel like you have to apply it again and you don't feel as beautiful with your natural look. Natural look is fine a bit of cover up and eye liner wont kill anyone.

I say at age 13 is the right age to start to wear makeup, when Ur little you wear lip gloss and other but around 14 you should wear everything.:)But just because other people wear make up doesn't mean you have to too. Everyone is beautiful the way they are, just be your self, but if you want to wear makeup i'm not stopping you just do what you want and May God Bless you and your family:)
