I think it depends on where you get it. Even at Clarie's a jewelry place they asked my husband for his drivers licence just to get his ears pierced. And every time I have gotten something pierced even with my parents there they have asked to see my licence and proof that I was their child. This is in New Mexico I don't know if it's the same in other states.
Why would you want one? It won't add anything but a distraction from your natural looking face. Lots of employers do not allow it. For instance, the health care profession. How would you view your parents with one?

Any person that goes for a piercing needs ID. And the person who is going to do the piercing needs to have a certification, schooling and any form or resume to confirm they are qualified for this procedure. I mean, think about it.. People in India do it for reasons of tribes, stature, and gender. Take Care of your body. Don't invite infections. Enjoy the holes you were born with that have purpose, don't make any more if you don't have to. Have a good day!
