how did jesus select the 12 disciples

Jesus evidently selected his disciples with regard to their spiritual character. He certainly had no interest in their education or status, and his disciples were fishermen, tax collectors, common people, political activists, and uncommon leaders, rich and poor, educated and uneducated.
