How many miles should I run per week to stay in shape and run 5ks?

I'm just trying to stay in shape and I run everyday from 2-3 miles usually and should I be doing more? my goal when I'm older is to run a marathon and im just training my body now and im only a teenager. any advice or how much I should run. I do at least 10 miles a week.

Dont forget a mile is 1.609 km...if you have not ran previously i would do a varied routine of sprints, hills and stairs and endurance runs, try to do 3 miles the first few weeks then 4 for a few weeks and so on. Dont forget to do 5km runs every so often so you know how it feels. Good luck! :)

I think for a beginner in the run 5K you should run at least 15 to 25 miles per week. I would recommend you to have at least six months of running experience to participate in 5K and to have your body adapt the 5K routine.

Run as far as you can!!even when you feel like your about to puke or pass out,push yourself
