how long does it take to remove wisdom teeth

Report as

Wisdom teeth also known as "3rd molars" are the teeth located at the farthest part of the upper and lower gums. They usually hurt and gives discomfort to the people with a misaligned wisdom teeth - as these teeth can grow under another tooth, or can grow horizontally or at any angle, pushing the rest of the teeth forward creating pressure. This is also called an "impaction". For younger people with wisdom teeth, they are easier to be removed by the dentist since the roots are not yet fully attached to the gums. Therefore in older people where the roots are already attached, removing the wisdom teeth will take longer time to heal and recover. The actual procedure of wisdom tooth extraction can take less than an hour. This procedure can be frightening to most people, however, this is done under local anesthesia so the gums and teeth are numb during the entire process.
