what causes low hdl levels

Low HDL(High density lipoproteins) may be due to a decrease in dietary consumption of foods containing HDLs. This means that there may be decrease consumption of fats. Another reason may be due to malabsorption or the body is not able to absorb into the circulation the fats digested.
